Fully GDPR compliant
When you upload a file to Good Tape, we transfer it via an HTTPS secured protocol to our servers based within the European Union, where we transcribe it. Keeping your files within the EU is a key element in making us GDPR-compliant.
Advanced encryption
All data stored by Good Tape (data at rest) is encrypted using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256) and securely stored within the EU. Data transferred between you and Good Tape, as well as between Good Tape’s servers, is encrypted using TLS or mTLS to ensure maximum security. In other words, our encryption is top notch.
We don’t use your files
Your files are yours, and yours alone. Unlike other transcription tools, we will never use your files for anything other than providing you with your transcription. Your recordings will never be used to train any AI models, cyborgs, or Skynet. We also don’t share, sell, rent, or trade your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. We always try to hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards, not merely complying with rules and regulations, but being the good guys in the industry that can earn your trust.
The industry standard
We follow industry standard principles and protocols similar to those of cloud services from Google, Microsoft, Dropbox, and similar providers. Your files are automatically deleted after transcription unless you choose to keep them in your private Safe Vault. Our team is obsessed with security, and we work hard to make sure that we are leaders when it comes to secure transcription.
DPA for Professionals
Good Tape Pro includes a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) where we commit in writing to the standards described above. Regardless of which version you choose (Good Tape Free, Good Tape Pro, or Team), rest assured that we handle all files with the highest level of security.
